Skin Concerns
At Skinology, we understand that every person's skin concerns are unique. That's why we offer a range of approaches to address various skin problems. Whether you're dealing with acne, sun damage, or signs of ageing, we have a solution that can help.
Most common skin concerns
Fine lines and wrinkles are often the first signs of ageing, commonly appearing as Crow’s feet, laughter lines, frown lines, forehead lines, nose-to-mouth lines (nasolabial folds) and lip lines.
we have various treatments to treat your concern areas! Whether you want to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles or fix hollowness, our experts can find the most effective treatment for your concerns.
As we age, our collagen and elastin levels decrease, causing loss of elasticity, fullness, and a youthful appearance. Lines, wrinkles and sagging skin are the most common signs of ageing. These wrinkles become more profound and extensive because the skin is weakened over time. As the tissues and muscles under the skin form creases from repeated movements such as smiling, laughing, and frowning, the skin will drape into the creases and settle, which gives a deeper, more set appearance to the line or wrinkle.
Our Approach.
We specialise in delivering advanced anti-ageing treatments that directly tackle fine lines & wrinkles to leave you with smoother, firmer, and younger-looking skin.
Our treatments can help you turn back the clock and reclaim years of ageing. We only use FDA-approved line and wrinkle treatments delivered through fully bespoke treatment plans to guarantee excellent results. Many effective treatment options are available at Skinology to treat fine lines & wrinkles.

Uneven skin tone can be an umbrella word for multiple types of skin discolouration caused by sunspots or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, for example. It can also refer to uneven skin texture, like dry patches, built-up dead skin cells and fine lines.
Uneven skin tone is a universal problem. However, the causal factors may vary and differ in terms of the extent or seriousness of the condition. The most common contributing factors include sun exposure, hormonal changes, genetics, skin inflammation issues and air pollution.
Our Approach.
Your face, hands and chest are the first parts of the body to show signs of ageing as these areas receive so much sun exposure.
Therefore, protection is key daily to prevent further damage to the underlying layer of the skin. Genetics, environmental factors, sunlight, UVA/UVB rays, hormonal imbalances and medication all contribute to pigmentation changes in the skin. Depending on the type and location of pigmentation, we will recommend either laser or skin treatments combined with medical-grade products to achieve the best results for you. At Skinology many treatments are available to treat uneven skin tone.
Often, a combination of treatments can provide the best solution.
-
Laser Pigmentation Removal – treats individual spots on the face or body.
-
Chemical Peels– suitable for general sun damage on the face, body, hands, and larger areas.
-
Fraxel Ablative Laser – for any pigmentation, including deep and superficial.
-
Elastin and collagen are used by the skin to maintain its elasticity, firmness, and smooth appearance.
As we age the levels of elastin and collagen in our skin will naturally drop. Here at skinology, we offer advanced treatment plans to turn back the clock and reverse the effects of volume loss to leave your skin feeling tighter, firmer, and more youthful.
Symptoms of Facial Volume Loss.

-
sunken cheeks
-
pronounced nasolabial folds

marionette lines (mouth to chin lines)
-
facial sagging or jowls

Dermal Fillers are the most effective treatments for restoring volume loss, HA filler treatments can help bring harmony to your facial features by adding volume, projection, or length to areas that may need enhancing, leaving you with a more lifted, refreshed and contoured looking appearance.

As we age, the production of collagen and elastin in our skin depletes, and this can be a primary cause of many ageing-related symptoms.
Symptoms of Eye Bags / Dark Circles.
Under the eye, the skin can be very thin and coupled with decreased hydration, this causes it to appear darker. The eyelids may begin to sag, which makes our brows drop and our eyes look less wide and youthful.
Our Approach.
Loose or saggy skin, dark circles, lines and wrinkles, dehydrated, sunken or hollow areas under the eye area!
Whatever your eye concern, Skinology Clinics has a wide range of advanced treatments to choose from.
Dermal fillers can assist in reducing dark circles by improving shadows caused by hollowness. It is not possible to completely remove dark circles under the eyes; however, there are techniques available that can reduce the appearance of them. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), polynucleotides, sunekos and laser treatments can also reduce the look of dark circles by promoting collagen production and increasing the thickness and vitality of the under-eye area skin.
Years of sun exposure with little or no SPF protection can lead to unwanted brown spots, sunspots, age spots and freckles on the face, neck, chest and hands.
Pigmentation is a discolouration of the skin that occurs when our skin is exposed to the sun’s rays, generally around the hands, face, shoulders and neck. Types of pigmentation include age spots, darker skin, freckles, and sun spots, which can occur from sun damage at any stage in life, from genetics, ageing, or hormonal changes such as pregnancy.
Laser therapy and medical grade skincare are an effective way to improve overall skin condition, reduce dark spots, and treat pigmentation issues. It’s important to have a consultation with a qualified practitioner to determine the best course of treatment for your individual needs. As well as having the right skincare routine with daily sunscreen use to maintain the results of the treatment.

Enlarged pores are generally caused by 2 primary factors.
-
Excess Skin Oil Production – People with oily skin have more oil-producing cells in their sebaceous glands. The more sebum that’s produced, the larger the pores become
-
Ageing of the Skin – As we age, we experience the loss of collagen. Collagen is a fundamental supporting structure in the skin. When collagen is lost with ageing, the oil glands and pores lose support and become lax, and the pores become enlarged.
-
The first step in treating enlarged pores is to understand what causes them. Pores are small openings in the skin that allow for the release of oils and other substances. They are controlled by the sebaceous glands, which produce sebum, an oily substance that helps to keep the layer of the skin moisturized. When these glands produce too much sebum, it can cause the pores to become clogged, leading to the formation of blackheads and whiteheads.
Additionally, as we age, our skin naturally loses collagen and elasticity, which can also cause our pore size to appear larger. There are several different treatment options available for treating enlarged pores.
Our Approach.
During your initial consultation with us at Skinology, your skin specialists will recommend starting your journey to clearer skin with the medical-grade skincare you can use at home to target blocked and enlarged pores.

There can be several reasons for the development of dull skin.
Dull skin can appear flat and may even feel rough or bumpy to the touch. To regain the look of refreshed, healthy, and radiant skin, it’s essential to understand the signs of dull skin. Many of us recognise when our skin is dry, but we are not always clear when our skin is lacking moisture. Dehydrated skin can look dull and tired and lose volume at the deeper dermis levels, leaving the skin looking hollow and saggy.
Our Approach.
During your initial consultation with us at Skinology, your skin specialists will recommend a treatment plan for your journey to radiant-looking skin.
We approach all skin concerns with a recommendation for at-home medical-grade skincare. This skincare routine is designed to keep the skin cleansed and exfoliated. The recommended products will eradicate dead skin cells, brightening the skin and retaining essential moisture levels. We stock exclusive medical-grade skincare ranges from Obagi, to Skin Ceuticals and Alumier. After 2-3 weeks of using your recommended skincare products, you can commence treatments specifically designed to target and treat dull skin.

Age spots are also known as sunspots, liver spots, freckles, lentigos or lentigines.
Age spots are small, flat dark areas on the skin. They vary in size and usually appear on areas exposed to the sun, such as the face, hands, shoulders and arms. Age spots are also called sunspots, liver spots and solar lentigines.
Experts don't know exactly why age spots develop, but some people do have a hereditary predisposition to them. In other words, you may have a higher chance of age spots if they run in your family. Other possible causes include skin aging, ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, such as tanning beds, and sun exposure.
Our approach
At Skinology , we believe prevention is key; therefore, wearing broad-spectrum SPF daily will prevent further age spots from appearing on the surface.
When treating any pigmentation on the face or body, we will assess the area to determine the best treatment for you. Establishing the exact depth and extent of each pigmented area can be challenging, so a combination of treatments may be required to achieve the best results.
At Laany treatments are available for age spots. Often, a combination of treatments can provide the best solution.

A skin concern for many people at different stages in life, acne prone skin is a result of excess sebum combining with dead skin cells and creating a blockage forming across the pores. The sebaceous glands sit just beneath the skin’s surface and naturally produce sebum which helps naturally moisturise and create a seal to the skin to protect against friction.
When acne occurs, people can experience mild inflammation which creates whiteheads or blackheads. With more severe acne inflammation, the skin can appear red, irritated and raised due to the skin follicles being blocked with bacteria that naturally lives on the skin’s surface.
Symptoms of Acne.
There are several types of acne:
-
Cystic Acne: Acne that causes deep, painful nodules; this type of acne can cause scarring.
-
Hormonal Acne: Acne from the overproduction of sebum that is regulated by hormones.
-
Fungal Acne: Acne can be caused by yeast or candida building up in the hair follicles. This can be itchy, red, or inflamed- located in the hair follicle, chest, back, neck, and face.
Our approach
During your initial consultation with us at Skinology, One of our skin specialists will recommend starting your journey to clear skin with the right medical-grade skincare that you can use at home, in between treatments and after the course of your acne treatments to keep breakouts under control.
We recommend a course of Salicylic Skin Peels or Chemical Peels as an effective acne treatment. The treatment will depend on the extent of your acne and will be discussed in full once your skin has been assessed at your initial consultation.

At various times in our lives, most of us suffer from unwanted facial redness, either in the form of overall reddening of the skin over the nose and cheeks or patches of broken veins around the cheeks and sides of the nose.
Diffuse redness refers to a condition caused by tiny dilated capillaries, most commonly affecting the face and décolletage. It presents as general facial redness or “rosy cheeks”.
Redness can occur as a result of aging, prolonged sun
exposure, lifestyle, hormonal changes; heredity can also play a large part.
If you’re struggling with red skin, allergic reactions or skin infection, it’s important to book a personalised consultation with one of our medical team at Skinology in order to see what is the best treatment for your skin.
A proper diagnosis is needed to understand the underlying cause and to provide the appropriate treatment.
One of the options for treatment for redness and sensitive skin is laser therapy. Laser therapy can help to reduce redness and inflammation by targeting the dilated blood vessels that cause redness. It can also help to improve the overall appearance of the skin conditions.
Symptoms of Redness.
Blush Redness can vary significantly from one person to another. The most common signs of blush redness or rosacea include:
